The Luiss Admission Test: Complete Guide (2027/28)
The information about the Luiss Test is real but spread across several Luiss pages: one paragraph on the admissions page, a scoring detail in a FAQ, dates in an infographic. This guide puts it in one place. It is based on Luiss's own published pages, and it says clearly which details Luiss has not published yet.
The full admission notice (bando) for 2027/28 publishes from October 2026. We update this guide the day it drops.
What the test is
The Luiss Test is the admission route for Luiss's bachelor programs and the single-cycle Master's degree in Law, for EU/Schengen citizens. You take it online on Luiss's platform, with live proctoring and audio-video verification.
The format: 50 multiple-choice questions in 75 minutes, one correct answer per question. Luiss describes the questions as logical-reasoning and psycho-aptitude questions, inspired by the SAT model, testing logical reasoning, problem solving and mathematical skills.
Two rules make this test unusually high-stakes:
- Admission is decided by the test alone. Luiss ranks candidates by test score, per degree course. Your school grades do not enter the ranking.
- You get one attempt per session, for one degree course, and that course choice is binding.
What "psycho-aptitude" means
It is not a personality test. In Italian admissions language, psico-attitudinale means aptitude reasoning: the standard question families of reasoning tests.
- Deductions and syllogisms: what follows from given statements, and what does not
- Verbal reasoning: arguments, assumptions, what strengthens or weakens a claim
- Numerical reasoning: quantities, percentages, data in tables and charts
- Problem solving: multi-step puzzles with rates, orderings and constraints
- Mathematics: school-level maths, applied quickly
Luiss has not published an official per-section question breakdown for 2027/28. Third-party sites publish claimed breakdowns, but we cannot verify them against an official source, so we do not repeat them. The official structure appears in the October 2026 admission notice.

Per Luiss's admission-test FAQ:
- +1 for each correct answer
- -0.25 for each wrong answer
- 0 for blank answers (and for questions with more than one answer marked)
A minimum final score of 60/100 is required to be admissible. Luiss reports results on a 100-point scale; the exact conversion from the 50-question raw score is not published. Read the floor as roughly "60% of the available points", and remember that admission is by ranking, so the floor is not the target.

English or Italian?
The test language follows your degree course. Italian-taught courses (Economics and Management, Law, Political Science) use an Italian test. English-taught courses (Business Administration, Economics and Business, Global Law, Management and Artificial Intelligence, Politics: Philosophy and Economics) use an English test.
One asymmetry, from Luiss's own FAQ: passing the English test qualifies you for any course, English- or Italian-taught. The Italian test covers Italian-taught courses only. If your English is solid, the English test keeps every option open.
Dates, fees and deadlines for 2027/28
First session, EU/Schengen candidates:

The participation fee is 150 euros. A second session follows later in the cycle; its calendar arrives with the admission notice. Luiss also runs an early-admission route through its summer school, with its own test and timeline.
How to prepare
Three points follow from the rules above.
- Train the format, not just the content. 50 questions in 75 minutes is 90 seconds per question on average. Pacing under that clock is a skill you can build.
- Train under the real scoring. Knowing when to answer and when to leave a question blank at -0.25 per miss is worth real points.
- Start before the bando. The question families are stable across cycles. The October notice tells you the exact mix, not the skills.
One attempt per session, and admission decided by your score alone — realistic practice is the whole game.
